Junior Sailors

The Stockton Sailing Club Junior Program

The Stockton Sailing Club Junior sailing program is an opportunity for young sailors that would like to spend more time on the water.  Much of the on-the-water activity takes place over the summer months as the weather and the wind allow.  This includes casual “fun sails,” as well as a mix of destination sails, and racing opportunities.

Code of Conduct

Once the fall weather arrives, there may be opportunities for more experienced junior sailors to participate in a high school/middle school racing program in the Bay Area.  There are also social events: fun sails typically include a BBQ that includes the whole family, pot lucks and volunteering at Club social events (Friday Night Dinners and the Crab Feed) are typically on the calendar as well.

The Stockton Sailing Club Junior program is run by volunteers, so the availability of activities is largely dependent upon the ability of parents and other volunteers to help.  Volunteer opportunities include: helping with BBQs at events, assisting in safety boats and on the docks, participating in planning meetings to coordinate events, and driving and towing boats to events in the Bay Area.
